Let’s talk about my family

We live in Italy. I’m the mom of a wonderful boy called Matteo. He is seven years old. At this time of the year, it is very restless because he can’t decide what costume to wear. The carnival parade is very important for him and his friends.

What is “carnival”

The word Carnival comes from the Latin “carnem levare”. This literally means “to eliminate meat”. In fact, this feast of the Catholic tradition precedes the beginning of Lent. “Lent” is a period of fasting and abstinence pending Easter. During this period, believers refrain from consuming meat.

At Carnival, in fact, you can disguise yourself as the character you always dreamed of, like a superhero, a prince or whatever makes you feel happy. Moreover, you can let yourself go with jokes and laughter.

Arlechino

The Italian Carnival stands out from the rest of the world for its traditional regional masks such as the very famous Pulcinella and Arlecchino, without forgetting some lesser-known but equally important masks.

Throwing confetti

According to tradition, Carnival is a party dedicated to fun and happiness in which moments of joy and creativity follow one another with parades and masquerade parties, allegorical floats, theatrical and musical performances, jokes, confetti, and streamers.

Venice Carnival

The most famous carnival is the Carnival of Venice which is known for its beautiful masks. The most important carnival in Europe is the Carnival of Viareggio. Here is my video if you want to know more about Venice Carnival.

Ninja or Super Mario?

My son likes both costumes, but the matter is that one covers his face and the other one his head.

So I have to give him good reasons to choose either one.

I know that at the end of the party he will take off almost everything but he wants to look good for his friends.

Final choice

I would like him with the Super Mario costume because it’s funnier but we will see if I’ll be able to convince him.

  1. Long time reader, first time commenter — so, thought I’d
drop a comment.. — and at the same time ask for a favor.

Your wordpress site is very simplistic – hope you don’t mind me asking
what theme you’re using? (and don’t mind if I steal it?

    :P)

I just launched my small businesses site –also built in wordpress like yours– but the theme
slows (!) the site down quite a bit.

In case you have a minute, you can find it by searching for
“royal cbd” on Google (would appreciate any feedback)

Keep up the good work– and take care of yourself during the coronavirus scare!
